USO Sigonella Volunteers of the month

We are thrilled to introduce our incredible September Volunteers of the Month, Cindy and Jerry Hill! Since their start with USO Sigonella in June 2022, the Hills have racked up over 200 combined hours and have been model lead volunteers from Indoc, to rotators, to Taste of Home- no matter the time of day, we can always count on them. Jerry and Cindy are not just your average volunteers; they’re a dynamic duo with a lifetime of dedication to service. Jerry, served in the Army for 20 years where he took to the skies as a helicopter pilot, and together, they embarked on an adventurous journey that led them to call 13 different places home! Some of their fondest memories include assignments in New Zealand and Hawaii. But their adventure doesn’t stop there. This amazing couple has been happily married for 46 years and raised a beautiful family of 6 children and are blessed with 11 grandchildren. After Jerry retired as a satellite engineer, where he was the lead trainer for all the U.S. Military Services on a communication satellite, they decided it was time to serve the military once again as missionaries for the Military Relations Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their appreciation for our service members knows no bounds, and here at NAS Sigonella, they’ve been making an incredible impact. Not to mention the amazing homemade cookies Cindy frequently brings by. One of the many ways they’ve supported our troops, and the USO, is by participating in Rotator flights, where they’ve had the privilege of meeting new people and making lifelong friends. They’ve also been an integral part of various USO events, always bringing their warm smiles and enthusiasm. The USO owes a huge debt of gratitude to Jerry and Cindy Hill for their unwavering dedication to our service members and their families. We’re beyond grateful to have them as part of our USO family and can’t wait to see where their next adventure will take them.
