USO Naples Glow in the Dark 5k

USO Naples lit up the night over August with an extra special Glow in the Dark 5k for patrons of all ages! In partnership with NSA Naples MWR Community Recreation Division and the Navy Exchange, the USO brought an experience like no other to over 500 families on the Support Site.

The base came alive as racers, adorned in their best and brightest glow-in-the-dark apparel, found the starting line and embarked on their glowing journey! It was truly a sight to behold as participants of all ages came together to have fun, get some exercise, and enjoy the electric atmosphere. From families pushing glow sticks adorned strollers to pet parents with neon gear for all, the track came alive with a sea of colors and glowing lights. Whether running to achieve their personal best or chatting and sharing stories of their military experiences, participants soaked up the spirit of the night, enjoying the blasting music and USO cheering them on. The energy and enthusiasm were contagious with excitement and radiating positive vibes all around.

As participants crossed the finish line, they were met with refreshing drinks, encouragement and congratulations, hugs, and a sense of accomplishment that went beyond the run itself. Patrons left with their hearts full, inspired by the sight of a military community that shone brightly, much like the glow sticks that lit up the event. As participants gathered under a canopy of stars, a heartwarming sense of camaraderie prevailed. Stories were shared, memories were made, and new friendships were formed. USO Naples Glow in the Dark 5k wasn’t just about running in the dark; it was about illuminating the bonds that hold the military community together and honoring their luminous valor.
