USO Naples- August 2023 Volunteer of the Month

USO Naples is proud to recognize Debbie Shelton as our August 2023 Volunteer of the Month! Since September 2022, Debbie has supported an innumerable amount of volunteer shifts resulting in 241 hours with USO Naples and 1861 lifetime volunteer hours through various overseas USOs!

Since joining the USO Naples Volunteer Committee Debbie has supported our team by manning the Support Site center and welcoming patrons, assisting us in bringing holiday programs to the community, like the Daddy-Daughter Dance, or serving meals to our junior sailors on Thanksgiving, and being our craft guru for special-edition Coffee Connections and After-School Spots. As Debbie explains, she particularly enjoys the opportunity to volunteer with the USO “at any program where we serve food to large groups of single military or Coffee Connections where we serve our military spouses.“

Debbie is originally from Portland, Oregon, and enjoys volunteering with the USO because "as a retiree, the USO was always important to me. And I reached a point where I wanted to give back to the community.” In her free time, Debbie enjoys crafting while at home, sightseeing around Europe, and playing golf.
