USO Naples- Q3 2023 Volunteer of the Quarter

Please join us in congratulating Leonard Lewis on achieving USO Naples’ Q3 2023 Volunteer of the Quarter!

Since joining the USO Naples Volunteer Committee, Leonard has been unwavering in his support and commitment to our organization’s mission and our Naples community. Leonard is the first person to offer his assistance and be a Volunteer Lead for volunteer-run programs like Dads & Donuts, 3-on-3 Basketball tournaments, and even the K-9 5k run. When USO Naples has an unmet need, Leonard happily steps up into various leadership roles so that we can continue to offer high-quality events and resources to our community. Since September 2022, Leonard has served 68 shifts, earned over 192 hours, and was awarded Volunteer of the Month in March of 2023.

Upon his arrival in Naples, Leonard immediately jumped into action serving his community and dedicating his free time to aiding his fellow soldiers and sailors. From delivering care packages to units and commands around NSA Naples to being a stable force behind our holiday programming (base trick-or-treating Spooky Spot, Operation Cookie Drop on Christmas Eve & Day, New Year’s Eve care package deliveries), Leonard strives to show appreciation to his fellow service members. Leonard is also a recruiter of volunteers for USO Naples and in more than one occasion, SSG Lewis has personally walked a fellow soldier into a USO center to meet the team and begin their volunteer journey. Without volunteers like Leonard Lewis, USO Naples would not be able to commit to and execute programs to our current standards level.

Leonard is always professional, reliable, and a joy to volunteer with. His positive attitude and willingness to do whatever the mission requires, has made him a USO Naples volunteer staple and someone others look to for leadership and help. While many folks become passionate about specific programs and gravitate towards those, Leonard has really done it all and even takes on some of the lesser desired tasks like grocery shopping support, storage cleanouts, flyer distribution, and trivia question creation. Leonard is a true volunteer rockstar and we are grateful for his help and dedication!
