USO Naples - April 2023 Volunteer of the Month

Please join USO Naples in congratulating April’s Volunteer of the Month, Mrs. Yasmine Moody! 

Capodichino hosts weekly Sailor Showdown and Troop Time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you are a regular patron, it is very likely that you have been welcomed by Yasmine’s warm smile. Yasmine is hard-working, kind, and reliable, and has so many other wonderful traits. She has been an active volunteer since September 2022, and she has come in to save the day on more than one occasion. Yasmine radiates positivity and enthusiasm; she is always eager to work as a team and serve the troops. 

Yasmine said that she chose to become part of the volunteer community in order to do something meaningful. She stated “[I] felt volunteering would be something good for me to do for my own wellbeing while also helping to serve others in the community. Being stationed overseas and being a military spouse is a catch-22, so being able to volunteer with people who understand the hardships of being away from family and just military life, in general, is nice and makes me feel better… My favorite events to volunteer for are Sailor Showdown and Troop Time because I get to see the same group of people each week whether they are active duty or civilians and they are all so happy and appreciative that we take the time out of our day to make their day just a little bit better.” Mrs. Yasmine Moody has worked over 80 shifts and has donated over 240 hours of her time to serve military members and their families. She has selflessly served her community time and time again, continually going above and beyond to ensure that our patrons are feeling welcomed and heard.

Yasmine is originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina but she was born in Iceland, which is where her mother is from. She has dual citizenship and loves to visit her mother’s homeland. It is her home away from home, and being in Naples allows her to visit more frequently now than she would have been able to back in the United States. 

During her free time, Yasmine loves to travel around Europe with her husband. She also goes on different tours throughout Naples and Italy, in general. Yasmine enjoys spending time with friends and exploring new places such as restaurants and shopping centers. She actively seeks out adventures and loves to try new things.
