USO Celebrates Service Member of the Quarter

The military is full of many outstanding service members that give their all to serving their country. Being in the military requires strength, perseverance, resiliency, and determination, amongst many other great qualities. A service member not only deals with high demands that come with the workload, but with personal challenges and obstacles that arise from life in the military. Given that there are many difficulties to overcome, those that face these challenges with grace and excellence deserve some recognition and celebration!

USO Sigonella hosted Service Member of the Quarter to highlight those that have gone above and beyond in their line of work. The ceremony was an area-wide initiative established by a US Navy Admiral many years ago. The tradition continues to be honored, and the USO is proud to be hosting the program. During our 1st Quarter event, sailors and installation leadership gathered at the Connection Room on NAS1 where the recipients were presented with awards while their leadership gave praise.

The room was full of smiles, warmth, and laughter as folks shared a meal and engaged in conversation. Recipients received a recognition plaque and a USAA coin of appreciation. Cheers and applause were heard all around after each command highlighted their exceptional service member and the great work and sacrifices they have made. Showing appreciation to those that have worked tirelessly is important for morale, confidence boosting, emotional wellness, and keeping our service members strong. Seeing the happy faces and the camaraderie between sailors and leadership is why the USO loves hosting Service Member of the Quarter!
