USO Vicenza Volunteer of the Year 2022

Please join the USO Vicenza in congratulating Terri Bender on being named our 2022 Volunteer of the Year! She came on board in August of 2021 and currently has 512 hours and shows no signs of slowing down. Terri quickly became indispensable to the center and one of the volunteers that we call first when extra help is needed. We soon found out that she was more than just a volunteer, she was a friend. We were able to trust her with events where she could take charge and conduct the event even in the absence of staff intervention. Her teaching background helps her guide and instruct other volunteers to where items are located and how to prepare their food items while conducting her own food item. Her demeanor is cheerful and compassionate. She works extremely well with the staff and the other volunteers and has several inputs to help make our programs run more smoothly. Not only does Terri volunteer in her off time she is a substitute teacher for DODEA and is utilized nearly full time. When not volunteering or working, Terri travels around Europe as much as she can. When asked why she volunteers with the USO, Terri said that she has always been around USO’s when her husband would travel for his reserve duties and once her son joined the Marines, she was ecstatic how well the USO would take care of him, so she wanted to provide the same feeling for other parents of service members. Once again, join us in congratulating Terri on becoming our 2022 Volunteer of the Year. #BeTheForce #USOVicenza #USOVolunteers #VolunteerOfTheYear
