USO Naples Spouse Yoga

The benefits of yoga are endless; this type of exercise is soothing for the mind, improves flexibility and balance, increases muscle tone, and reduces stress. This, plus the goodness of being part of a community, is exactly what military spouses overseas need. During the month of September, USO Naples began hosting weekly Spouse Yoga sessions for the first time led by instructor Ruth Scott. These classes provide a safe space for people interested in yoga, and for those that are potentially partaking in this type of exercise for the first time. This is a great way for new yoga participants to explore the art of stretching, balancing, and strengthening. In addition, this can open the doors for newly arrived spouses to meet and connect with folks and make long-lasting friends. It provides an activity that is good for one’s health in all aspects, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The interactive yoga sessions are done at Support Site in the Community Center at the Village Forum, right next to the USO office! The classes are given every Tuesday at 0830 to 0930. The instructor, Ruth Scott, has donated her time to share her passion of yoga and teach those that share the same interest or are curious to learn. Our sessions include beginner poses, and the USO team provides light refreshments to help our attendees stay hydrated. Spouse Yoga is one of our favorite ways to connect with our community and exercise in a safe and friendly environment USO Naples welcomes our military spouses to join us for 60 relaxing minutes of mindful yoga!
