USO Naples Volunteer of the Month - Theodore Fan

Please join the USO Naples in congratulating our September 2022 Volunteer of the Month, Mr. Theodore Fan! Our friend Theodore (Teddy) was born and raised in Queens, New York. He was stationed in Virginia Beach for about 9 months prior to arriving in Naples at the end of June this year.

In just about a month and a half, Teddy has donated 66 hours of his time to serving the troops and military families of NSA Naples! When asked why he chose to be part of the Naples volunteer committee, Teddy responded “I always enjoyed volunteering as it was a great way to meet new people while giving back to the community. In my short time here, I have gotten to know many people during these events, both attendees as well as fellow volunteers. A lot is asked of our service members and their families, and anything we can do to make their time here better is worth the effort.” Teddy became an active member this past August and has been extremely involved and supportive of the programming occurring at both Support Site and Capo. Teddy has helped at events such as Troop Time, Coffee Connections, AMC Flights, and other office support necessities like baking treats for Yappy Hour and manning the front desk. Teddy says, “I enjoy the weekly themed events like Sailor Showdown or Trivia the most as it allows me to interact with Sailors outside of a working environment and I can get to know them on a personal level.”

Teddy, like many folks stationed in Naples, loves to travel. He takes full advantage of the USO S&G Tours and has already traveled to places like Sorrento and Procida. In addition to traveling, Teddy spends his leisure time watching current popular shows in the genres of sci-fi and fantasy. USO Naples is immensely grateful for all the support Teddy has provided; his reliability, friendliness, enthusiasm, and dedication are admirable, and we cannot be luckier to have him on the Naples Volunteer Committee team.
