A Paw-fect Summer Evening

USO Sigonella is excited to share its newest program for furry friends in Sicily: Bark in the Park! Programs are often focused on service members and their families, little ones, and holiday celebrations, so it is time to include the irreplaceable part of every family, the dogs! Dogs, too, deserve to feel at home wherever stationed; that is where USO comes into play. When arriving in a new country away from your previous friends and familiar surroundings, is there anything better than meeting for playdates to say hello to new people?

On September 8th, 2022, Bark in the Park was executed by the USO Sigonella team. Dog owners and their furry pals had the opportunity to meet at the dog park this summer evening. Outside the play area, USO Sigonella set up tables with delicious puppucino’s, small treat bags for each dog, and the grand prize raffle for all to particpate. The raffle winners won a brand-new toy and some delicious treats! All puppy parents had an opportunity to connect and mingle while their dogs did the same inside the park. It was the “pawfect” way to spend the evening with the family here on Marinai base housing.

USO Sigonella is happy to provide the community with events like these to connect and strengthen the bond between service members and their families. Bark in the Park paves the way for all people in Sigonella to share a common interest and build amazing relationships with each other. Each month, USO Sigonella looks forward to seeing the furry friends and their humans, so be sure to come to the next one!
