USO Naples Volunteer of the Month - March 2022

The USO Naples Volunteer Committee is comprised of a group of selfless, committed, and enthusiastic individuals who dedicate their time to giving back to their military community. One of these outstanding committee members is ITS2 Reuben Elie, who joined the USO Naples team in February 2022. Reuben has played a critical role in supporting programs -from preparing and serving Troop Lunch, grilling burgers for Taste of Home, and welcoming passengers with the incoming AMC Flights. Since becoming a volunteer, Reuben has dedicated over 70 hours of volunteer service while also serving as an active-duty service member and it is our pleasure to award him as our Volunteer of the Month for March 2022.

Reuben has lived in Trinidad, Tobago, New York and is stationed here in Naples with his family. When asked why he chose to volunteer with the USO, he stated “I chose to volunteer with the USO because I wanted to do more to benefit my community of military family members.” You may have seen him at a wide array of programs these last couple of months. But, there’s one program that he keeps coming back to, “As for the events, Troop lunches are the best because the sense of satisfaction knowing you’ve provided a wonderful service to the fellow military members is wonderful.“

When Reuben isn’t volunteering, you can find him spending his free time dabbling in creative writing, traveling Europe with his family, and enjoying making people smile. The USO Naples team is grateful to have Reuben as one of our hardworking, outgoing, and positive volunteers. Please join us as we congratulate him as our Volunteer of the Month for March 2022!
