USO Naples Volunteer of the Month February 2022

USO Naples would like to introduce one of our outstanding volunteers, Kaiya Johnekins. Kaiya joined the USO Naples Volunteer Committee in September 2021 and in just 5 short months has dedicated over 80 hours of volunteer service to the USO and NSA Naples community. As one of the youngest members on the Naples Volunteer Committee, her vast array of volunteer shifts has made her one of our most valuable volunteers. She has served hundreds of hungry troops at Troop Lunch, spent mornings crafting, and engaging with our military children at Teddy Bear Club and helped put on our first Harvest Fest this past fall. Her unwavering support, reliability and positivity radiate at each event she attends, and we are proud to announce her as our Volunteer of the Month for February 2022!

Originally from Florida, Kaiya is stationed here in Naples with her family and began volunteering with the USO to get out of her comfort zone and make a difference in her community. She has volunteered at nearly 30 shifts, sometimes traveling between two bases for multiple shifts in a day. From Breakfast Brigade to supporting our first Super Bowl Block Party this month she has been a leading force at many of our events. “My favorite program would have to be bingo and troop lunch”, she said when asked about her favorite event to volunteer at. “Bingo because that’s my favorite game, and troop lunch because I enjoy being in that environment.”

Whether Kaiya is enthusiastically executing bingo or helping our team grocery shop for the week, she is a pillar of strength within the USO Naples Volunteer Committee. Please join us as we thank her for her service to the community and the USO.
