USO Vicenza Launches A Delightful New Program

USO Vicenza kicked off the New Year with a wonderful new program, called “Warrior Wagon”. Recently, with big smiles, the volunteers from USO Vicenza headed to Del Din to conduct the inaugural Warrior Wagon program. Soldiers from the Airborne 2-503 were surprised and delighted to receive amazing snack bags to support them through their day. These tasty bundles included a variety of treats including tuna snack packs, peanut butter crackers, apple juice, cracker jacks, and peanut M&M’s. All of which provided much-needed energy to the hardworking soldiers. Letters of thanks with handmade drawings from children were included in the bags, to show their appreciation for the military service members. The soldiers were truly grateful, made apparent by their smiles, to receive this small token of appreciation.

This program supports the hardworking soldiers located out on Caserma Del Din, an installation that is removed from the main base. Being stationed there can feel isolating to the soldiers in this area, leaving them disconnected from many of the support services available in Vicenza. Visits from the USO are welcomed by the soldiers, their faces light up any time the staff and volunteers visit them. USO Vicenza is excited to continue this program, providing service members who work farther away from the main base with an extra outreach of support while living in Italy. The USO Warrior Wagon will visit Del Din once a month, bringing snacks, treats, breakfast bags, and other items to the various battalions, so keep an eye out in the months to come.
