USO Vicenza Volunteer of the Month - December 2021

Please join the USO Vicenza in congratulating Mary Theresa Ozbun (Theresa) for being our December 2021 Volunteer of the Month. Theresa is originally from New York but has been in Vicenza for the last 6 years. Theresa just recently retired from her career with AAFES (Army and Air Force Exchange Service) and has decided to settle in the Vicenza community to be closer to her son who lives in Vicenza. Theresa only recently started volunteering with the USO Vicenza in October of this year and is already a valuable member of our little family. Theresa prefers to keep in the back ground and ensure that every dish is meticulously prepared and that the patrons enjoy their home cooked meal. If you have eaten a meal at the USO in the past 3 months then you have probably tasted some of her cooking. While Theresa is settling in to her retirement role, she still likes to keep busy and give back to the community. When asked why she chose to volunteer with the USO Vicenza she said that “I volunteer because in my entire career with the Exchange I enjoyed serving those who serve. By volunteering I am able to continue giving back to the service members and their families.” When Theresa is not at home relaxing or volunteering at the center, she enjoys her hobby of photography.
