USO Naples Volunteer of the Month November 2021 - Lori Blaisdell

Each USO volunteer brings a unique quality to our volunteer team, truly creating the backbone our organization thrives on. From their selflessness to their determination, from their creativity to their humor – they provide a true touch of home to service members and their families across the globe. This month, USO Naples would like to recognize our enthusiastic volunteer Lori Blaisdell as our Volunteer of the Month for November 2021. While Lori is originally from New Jersey, she moved out of the state when she was 20 and has moved about 20 times since then, living in 5 other states and 2 countries. Since moving to Naples and joining the USO Naples Volunteer Committee in November 2020, Lori has dedicated over 185 hours of volunteer service to the NSA Naples community spanned across 61 events. “I have experienced the USO’s hospitality at various airports around the U.S and was impressed with the dedication, kindness and professionalism of the volunteers. I was so happy to see such an active USO here in Naples. I get to experience the same dedication, kindness and professionalism from the volunteer side of the house and truly enjoy being a part of the ‘force behind the forces,’” said Lori when asked why she chose to volunteer. “I so needed something to do, and people to take care of during lockdown. The USO gives me that opportunity and they brighten my day every time I volunteer.” If you work on Capodichino, you have probably been greeted by Lori as she regularly serves our service members at Troop Lunch. “Hands down my favorite program is Troop Lunch! I love people, and feeding people is even better! So of course, my favorite events would be any that involve serving food,” says Lori. When Lori isn’t volunteering with the USO, you can find her working out, reading, sightseeing or visiting her 3 grandkids in the U.S. Lori has been a driving force of positivity and persistence since she joined the USO Naples volunteer team, and we are eternally grateful to have her as a volunteer.
