USO Naples Volunteer of the Quarter Q4 2021 - IT2 Carlitta Smith

USO Naples is proud to announce IT2 Carlitta Smith as our Volunteer of the Quarter for Q4. In the four short months Carlitta has been on the USO Naples Volunteer Committee she has radiated positivity, encouragement, and dependability. She has quickly become one of the most reliable volunteers on the team, volunteering at nearly 50 shifts since she became a volunteer. As an active-duty service member who regularly stands night watches, she has made the USO a priority, volunteering and supporting shifts whenever she is not actively working. She has been a pillar of strength since she started at the USO and has directly contributed to the success and growth of the Naples Volunteer Committee.

Originally from Georgetown, Guyana and Brooklyn, New York Carlitta is stationed here in Naples and has been volunteering with USO Naples since June 2021. She has gone to great lengths to support the USO mission from spending the 4th of July supporting service members and their families to regularly serving our troops at Troop Lunch, from volunteering at events at multiple bases in one day to supporting last minute requests without any hesitation. Many of you have probably been greeted by IT2 Smith at Troop Lunch, as she has executed over 15 Troop Lunches and served over 1,150 hungry troops.

When asked why she decided to join the USO Naples Volunteer team, she replied “Because I love it! There are so many different events to include everyone, and I love the way we get to make a difference in so many lives.” It is needless to say that Carlitta has made a significant impact for many of us stationed here in Naples, but it goes without saying that she has made an even bigger impact on the USO Naples Volunteer Committee. Please join us as we congratulate her not just as the USO Naples Volunteer of the Quarter, but as the USO Italy Volunteer of the Quarter as well!
