USO Vicenza Volunteer of the Month - October 2021

Please join the USO Vicenza in congratulating Terri Bender on being named our October 2021, Volunteer of the Month! Terri has only been volunteering with the USO Vicenza since the middle of August of 2021, only 2 weeks after arriving in the country, but has already stood out as an amazing volunteer. Over the past 2 months Terri has become an invaluable member of the team. She has been instrumental in the kitchen helping us prepare for our food events and always seems to have a smile on her face regardless of how tired she is from work. She is in the final stages of becoming a substitute teacher for DODEA but has been teaching for years. She currently resides in Italy with her husband Terrance and her daughter Cassandra. She has a son in the Marines and is expecting her first grandchild in December. When not volunteering, Terri plans to travel around Italy as much as she can. When asked why she volunteers with the USO, Terri said that she has always been around USO’s when her husband would travel for his reserve duties and once her son joined the Marines, she was happy how well the USO would take care of him, so she wanted to provide the same feeling for other parents of service members. She also mentioned that after 2-weeks in the hotel she was going crazy and needed to find an activity to take up some spare time and get her out of the hotel. Once again, join us in congratulating Terri on becoming our October 2021 Volunteer of the Month.
