USO Naples Volunteer of the Month September 2021 - Carlitta Smith

The USO Naples Volunteer Committee consists of hardworking, selfless individuals who consistently support their military community. IT2 Carlitta Smith has truly gone above and beyond during her time as a USO Volunteer and we are proud to recognize her as our Volunteer of the Month for September 2021. Originally from Georgetown, Guyana and Brooklyn, New York Carlitta is stationed here in Naples and has been volunteering with USO Naples since June 2021. She has gone to great lengths to support the USO mission from spending the 4th of July supporting service members and their families to regularly serving our troops at Troop Lunch, from volunteering at events at multiple bases in one day to supporting last minute requests without any hesitation. In just 3 short months IT1 Smith has volunteer over 90 hours with over 36 of those hours in the past month alone. When asked why she decided to join the USO Naples Volunteer team, she replied “Because I love it! There are so many different events to include everyone, and I love the way we get to make a difference in so many lives.” It is needless to say that Carlitta has made a significant impact for many of us stationed here in Naples, but it goes without saying that she has made an even bigger impact on the USO Naples Volunteer Committee. We are incredibly proud to have her as part of the team and her efforts in supporting the USO’s mission of connecting service members to their family, home, and country. Please join us in congratulating her as our Volunteer of the Month for September 2021!
