USO Naples extends their outreach to support soldiers at JFC

Service members are hard at work around the globe every day, whether it be standing watch or performing routine field exercises. Last week in Italy, soldiers across several different detachments hosted a field exercise event at the Allied Joint Forces Command Naples. Over the course of six hours, service members showcased equipment, briefed on vehicles they had on site and demonstrated physical fitness tests to military leadership, giving them a private in-depth and informational tour.

USO Naples extended their outreach during this event, keeping soldiers hydrated throughout the day by offering ice cold waters, Gatorades and refueling snacks. Supporting missions like this field exercise at JFC give the USO an opportunity to strengthen the connection between service members across the branches and solidify the gratitude they have towards the troops. Many of these soldiers are stationed overseas, thousands of miles away from their friends and families in the states. Executing exercises in foreign countries can be daunting, but a sense of comfort, home and companionship can be found for them with the USO.

At field events like this they are immediately welcomed by a team of volunteers and staff, given information on upcoming events and programs that can help connect them to their community during their time overseas and are supported with food and beverages during their long workday to keep them fueled and focused as they accomplish their mission. Whether it be a friendly hello or an ice cold drink, the USO is there to support during a time where the morale and welfare of service members is critical to their duty.
