USO Naples Volunteer of the Month August 2021 - Devin Thompson

The USO Naples Volunteer Committee is comprised of a group of selfless, committed, and enthusiastic individuals who dedicate their time to giving back to their military community. One of these outstanding committee members is MRFN Devin Thompson, who joined the USO Naples team this past February 2021. Since becoming a volunteer, Devin has dedicated over 50 hours of volunteer service while also serving as an active duty service member. He has played a pivotal role in supporting Summer programs like the USO’s Summerfest, Taste of Home and the incoming rotator flights. He has gone above and beyond his duties as a volunteer and it is our extreme pleasure to award him as our Volunteer of the Month for August 2021.

Originally from Arvada, Colorado MRFN Thompson has been stationed here in Italy for the past year. “I choose to volunteer with USO because of the amazing community and how great it feels to be a part of something bigger than myself,” he said when asked why he chose to volunteer with the USO. “As for the events, I like each and every one of them! They are all fun to volunteer at because of the people I get to work with and the new people I get to meet,” he says.

When Devin isn’t volunteering, you can find him outdoors going on hikes or playing volleyball at the beach. His positivity, open heart and dedication has made him a model volunteer and the USO Naples team could not be happier to have him as part of the committee.
