USO Vicenza Volunteer of the Month - July 2021

Please join the USO Vicenza in congratulating Simranjit Dhaliwal (Simi) on being named our July 2021, Volunteer of the Month! Simi only has been volunteering with the USO Vicenza since January 2021 and has already stood out as an invaluable member of the team. His hard work ethic and can-do attitude is just what the center needs. Simi is an active-duty soldier of 11years and is currently working for SETAF-AF but still finds the time to volunteer at our events. He is originally from Minnesota but grew up moving around the United States and considers Washington State his home. Simi is not currently married but is in a relationship with another active-duty soldier currently serving in Hawaii. When Simi is not working or volunteering, he spends his free time trying to see as much of Italy as possible and loves going on Outdoor Rec trips. Simi has been a tremendous help with our weekend programs, general assistance around the center, and at our Del Din events. When asked why he volunteered at the USO Vicenza he answered that he always enjoyed visiting USO’s around the world and wanted to ensure that other soldiers and their families received the same amenities and services that he did on his visits. He is also an advocate for getting younger soldiers excited about volunteering and talks with them about how rewarding being a volunteer can be.
