USO Naples Volunteer of the Month May 2021 Jenn Atienza

Meet Jenn Atienza - a dedicated mother, wife and active USO Naples volunteer. Jenn joined the USO team at the end of January 2021, and over the past 5 months she has been one of the most enthusiastic, supportive and upbeat volunteers USO Naples has seen. In her short time as a volunteer, Jenn has served over 90 volunteer hours spanned across 40 community events. Her devotion to her military community and the USO is unwavering and it is our pleasure to announce her as our Volunteer of the Month for May 2021.

Jenn is a Navy Brat herself and spent some of her childhood stationed in London, England but she calls San Diego, California her home. She is now stationed here in Naples with her husband Alan and their adorable little girl, Amelia Joy. When asked why she chose to volunteer with the USO, Jenn had a meaningful story to share. “My mom worked for USO Keflavik in Iceland and she would always tell me memories of her time with them,” says Jenn. “The USO has given my family and I so much joy over the last 4 years, I wanted to do the same for others. There are countless programs they produced that gave us a lifetime worth of memories and I wanted to be a part of the team that gave so much, especially during a year that people needed others most.”

Many of you have probably seen Jenn serving meals at Troop Lunch or handing you a hot dog at her favorite event, Hot Dog Friday. “Hot Dog Friday is close to my heart. It was my first event and I love seeing the community come by smiling, rain or shine,” she says. When Jenn isn’t volunteering with the USO, you can find her golfing at Carney Park, getting emotionally invested in TV shows with her husband, or having mid-day dance parties with Amelia Joy. Her energetic personality and selflessness shows at each opportunity she volunteers at and we couldn’t be happier to have her on our team. Please join us in recognizing and congratulating her as our Volunteer of the Month!
