USO Sigonella Volunteer of the Month April- Ahmya Lyons

LSSN, Ahmya Lyons is being recognized as our volunteer of the month for April. We value her continued efforts in helping us spread the USO mission around the NAS Sigonella community. Ahmya has been volunteering with us since August 2020, so close to a year now, and has been a great addition to our volunteer team. You may recognize her from our Troop Lunches, Wellness Wednesday and even our “You’ve Been Egged” Easter delivery. When Ahmya walks into the USO Center she always jumps right in and begins working hard, she’s a natural leader. Not only does she support us with volunteering for our programs Ahmya brings her gregarious personality every time and spreads her warm cheer amongst staff, other volunteers, and patrons. We feel very blessed to be able to have Ahmya as one of our volunteers, she never fails to brighten up the room and has a great sense of humor, we look forward to continuing working with her in the months to come.

As an active duty service member with a busy schedule, she still manages to find the time to volunteer with us and give back to the community. She works for NAVSUP FMC as a logistics specialist. Originally from Lumberton, NC, she is working toward receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and you guessed it, volunteering with the USO!

When asked to give a quote about why she enjoys volunteering with us she said, “I love getting the opportunity to meet new people when volunteering for different events. Volunteering gives me something positive to do in my free time.”

Thank you Ahmya for all your hard work and for being you!
