Mommy and Me Yoga
It was a beautiful Saturday morning at USO Vicenza, as families began to arrive one by one with yoga mats in hand. The cool breeze danced in the air alongside the sounds of peaceful music, which set the tone for the relaxing hour ahead. USO Vicenza volunteer, Tammie, instructed the participants to take a seat on their mat and relax as they got ready to embark on an imaginary adventure during the first ever USO Vicenza Mommy and Me Yoga Class. Moms, dads, and little ones were guided through an exciting adventure which included: crossing fields, climbing mountains, and even riding on rafts down wild rivers. Everyone was taught to use different yoga poses, such as tree pose, pigeon pose, and downward dog pose, to actively be a part of this magical story and yoga time. Smiles could be seen reaching ear to ear, as the families enjoyed this Zen time and were overjoyed to have these moments to bond with their children. The class ended with lots of deep breathing and shaking out the wiggles and a treat to take with them to boost up their energy for the day ahead. USO Vicenza’s first Mommy and Me Yoga Class was a huge success with the Vicenza Military Community and will make a reappearance again just in time for Mother’ Day.
