USO Sigonella Volunteer of the Month February- Janna Lyn Vargas

Dedicated, selfless and enthusiastic are just a few words to describe the hard-working volunteers we have here at USO Sigonella. We have the privilege to work alongside some of the best and brightest of NAS Sigonella on a weekly basis, and for that we are very fortunate. Whether it’s waking up before the sun to serve hot coffee to service members on their way to work, or helping keep the center doors open when staff is on the go, our volunteers are always ready to answer the call to serve. The support our volunteers give USO Sigonella and the NAS Sigonella community never waivers, and because of that, we can provide the service we do for our community each day.

Meet our Volunteer for the Month for February 2021, LS2 Janna Lyn Vargas. You may recognize her from Troop Lunch To-Go, Taste of Home To-Go, Cup of Joe, and around the USO Center. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Janna Lyn has been volunteering with USO Sigonella since September 2019 and has continuously made a strong impact on our organization. As soon as restrictions lifted and we were able to bring volunteers back into the center, Janna Lyn was there to help! From recruiting fellow service members from her command, NAVSUP, to bringing a positive attitude to every event she attends, she continues to be a great leader and a volunteer we know we can always count on. When asked about her time as a volunteer she had this to say, “It is very fulfilling to give back to my fellow service members and it is a great way to make new friends.”

Thank you, Janna Lyn for all your hard work and dedication to our cause and we look forward to working alongside you in the months to come!
