USO Naples Volunteer of the Month January 2021 - LSSN Jo Cummings

The USO is built on the selflessness, dedication, and care that our volunteers put into the organization. Thy are the true backbone of each and every USO program, providing a touch of home to service members and their families across the globe. This month, USO Naples would like to recognize our volunteer LSSN Jo Cummings as our Volunteer of the Month for January 2021.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Jo is stationed here in Naples. Since joining the USO Naples Volunteer Committee in August 2020, Jo has dedicated over 72 of volunteer service to the NSA Naples community. “I choose to volunteer with the USO originally just to get a couple hours of community service, but it ended up being so much more for me,” said Jo when asked why she chose to volunteer. “Volunteering with the USO has been such a joy and now something I do regularly.”

If you live on base, you have probably been visited by Jo as she regularly acts as one of the USO’s Sweet Tooth Fairies. “My favorite event to participate in is easily sweet tooth fairy, it’s so much fun leaving sweet little surprises at people’s doors and being recognized by the kids,” says Jo. LSSN Cummings’ love for the community and giving back has made her a model volunteer and valued team member. When Jo isn’t volunteering with the USO, you can find her trying new recipes to make in her air fryer, watching Grey’s Anatomy or spending time with the people she loves.

Please join us as we thank LSSN Cummings for her unwavering volunteer service with the USO and congratulate her as our Volunteer of the Month for January 2021!
