USO Vicenza Volunteer of the Month - January 2021

Please join the USO Vicenza in congratulating Anna Zielinski for being our January 2021 Volunteer of the Month. Anna came to Vicenza with her family from Virginia Beach. Anna grew up in a military family, with her sister and brother in the Air Force and her father a retired Navy. Anna first started volunteering in 10th grade, when she attended Vicenza High School (VHS), by baking treats for Taco Tuesday and other events. Anna was highly active at VHS in student activities and was an award-winning swimmer and soccer player at VHS. Anna graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 2019 and is now a sophomore at the University of Notre Dame.  She is studying Environmental Engineering and has a passion for environmental issues. Anna has had the privilege of traveling extensively, since she has lived in Europe for half of her life, living in Naples, Italy, Stuttgart, Germany, and Vicenza. Anna is fluent in German and hopes to come to Europe for a master’s program. She also enjoys languages and hopes to learn several others. When Anna is not studying or volunteering, she enjoys reading and watching movies. Anna also hold a special place in her heart for animals and often enjoys taking pictures of them! Anna enjoys volunteering at our weekly Wake Up Wednesday and other special events. Anna chooses to volunteer with USO Vicenza because she enjoys helping others and being part of a motivated and enthusiastic team. Thank you, Anna! You have been and continue to be a tremendous help to the USO Vicenza in meeting our mission and we truly appreciate you!
