Christmas Day Duty Deliveries
The Christmas season was different this year but that didn’t stop the USO Naples team from making this season one to remember. The month of December was filled with programs that embraced all the wonderful feelings that go with the holiday season. Christmas Day Deliveries was a program that showed the spirit of Christmas by serving the military community. On Christmas morning, volunteers and staff made an extra sweet delivery of cookies and milk: a Christmas classic that Santa would approve of and so did the troops! The USO Naples team split into two groups that went to Capodichino and Support Site. The cookies were delivered to the hospital, the clinic, the security offices, and the fire stations. With each delivery you could feel the appreciation not only for the cookies and the milk, but for the support that was given. There was a sense of gratitude in the air that was felt by the volunteers, staff, and our troops. The USO felt proud to start out the day by serving those who were working this holiday. Christmas is the season of giving and to be able to give back to the community is ultimately the best gift that can be given.
