It was a joyful Christmas Day, as volunteers and the USO Vicenza staff were busy preparing the perfect, taste of home, Christmas lunch. The smell of sweet honey ham, buttery mashed potatoes, creamy green bean casserole, and cheesy mac n’ cheese filled the air. Dessert was not forgotten though, as volunteers baked and sliced up warm sweet apple pie. As the hungry patrons began to arrive, they were greeted with a festive holiday smile, and offered a hot Christmas meal to-go, bringing them that comfort food they miss so dearly. The local Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) Vicenza volunteers joined forces with USO Vicenza, making sure that families in quarantine also received a little Christmas cheer by delivering meals directly to their doors. The BOSS elves also delivered hot and delicious meals to those at the fire department, along with service members staying in the Restriction of Movement Barracks, ensuring no one was forgotten on this holiday. In total, USO Vicenza served over 300 Christmas meals to service members and their families, making sure all enjoyed a fresh and hot meal. The USO Vicenza staff and volunteers were excited to have brought an abundance of holiday cheer and smiles all around to brighten this Christmas Day for the Vicenza Military Community.
