USO Naples Volunteer of the Year 2020- Christopher Mole

2020 was a year filled with new challenges at every turn. While USO adapted its programming to support the military community during the COVID-19 pandemic, both on the frontlines and at home, our volunteers adapted as well. From creating snack bags for hardworking troops to enjoy on a busy day, to helping prepare craft kits for virtual programs for families to enjoy at home – our team of USO volunteers were there for it all. One volunteer went above and beyond his roles, helping provide support to the community in the depths of lockdown. With over 390 volunteer hours logged, 137 of those within the last year alone, USO Naples is proud to announce Christopher Mole as our Volunteer of the Year for 2020. Ever since Chris joined the USO Naples team in September 2017, he has been a pillar within the Naples volunteer committee. He is a leader, friend, confidant and role model to all, and his dedication to the USO and NSA Naples community is unwavering. In the past year Chris has helped support programs on Support Site, Capodichino, Grazzanise Air Base, JFC, and Gaeta - sometimes traveling between bases on the same day. You may have seen his friendly smile serving service members at Troop Lunch or handing out sweet treats to military children on Ice Cream Fridays. Some may even remember when he led an intensive work out session virtually from his home during Italy’s lockdown in April. Having served in the Army, Chris understands how important it is to connect our overseas service members and their family to home and country, especially as they navigate the unchartered waters of the recent pandemic. Chris has recently left Naples, but the impact he made at NSA Naples is everlasting. Please join USO Naples as we thank Christopher for his overwhelming compassion and congratulate him as the 2020 USO Naples Volunteer of the Year.
