USO Vicenza Volunteer of the Quarter Fall 2020 - Anna Jenkins

Please join us in congratulating our USO Vicenza, 4th Quarter 2020, Volunteer of the Quarter, Anna Jenkins! Anna was born in North Carolina but lived in Germany for most of her life. She is currently staying with her parents Nick and Roberta, brother Anthony, and 2 dogs Archie and Lily. Anna is normally a seasonal volunteer who helps when she is home on break from school. Anna is a Junior at the University of Missouri (Mizzou) and studying Pre-Med. Due to the current conditions in the United States she is spending her semester at home and doing her classes online. When Anna is not volunteering or studying, she likes to spend time with her family by going on small day trips or helping around the house. Anna has been instrumental in assisting with constructing appreciation bags and handing out troop lunches to service members. Over the last quarter, Anna helped pass out snack bags to paratroopers on Del Din during our Jump Support mission, passed out snack bags to our service members on duty during the 4th of July Holiday Weekend, and later provided soldiers with a tasty troop lunch during our Del Din Troop Lunch event. Anna has been amazing as a volunteer with the USO Vicenza she is almost always available to fill in for last minute volunteer needs. On several occasions she has used her language skills to coordinate the purchase of items needed at the center. Her Italian skills came in handy when trying to purchase a new outdoor bulletin board. She was able to convey our desires to the manufacturer so that we received the correct product. Anna truly enjoys helping our service members and their families feel comfortable and welcomed. Coming from a military family. Anna understands the difficulties that military families face especially when stationed overseas and wants to help ease some of the stress and tension that is associated with military life. Once again join us in congratulating Anna on becoming our 4th Quarter, Volunteer of the Quarter! Thank you for all you do!
