2020 Reintegration Support

Being away from home is never easy and the soldiers in Vicenza did just that this year! Soldiers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vicenza, Italy left in July for Saber J Field training in Germany. Upon their return after two long months of exercises, USO Vicenza, along with SHARP, Red Cross, and the Vicenza Community Club, organized a hearty welcome back for them. Everyone worked as a team to prepare over 1,000 welcome bags that included tasty savory and sweet snack items, a beverage, and a calendar of upcoming community events for the soldiers to enjoy. As the soldiers arrived by the busload for many days and nights, volunteers and staff from each organization teamed up again to pass out these goodie bags and bring a warm smile the faces of the hard-working soldiers. This collaboration with the community and other base organizations allowed USO Vicenza to be able to reach so many soldiers. It was a wonderful opportunity to give them a little taste of home and let them know we appreciate their hard work and dedication to our nation.
