USO Naples August Volunteer of the Month: IT2 Adriana Viramontes

USO Naples is excited to announce IT2 Adriana Viramontes as our August 2020 Volunteer of the Month! Originally from Guatemala City, Guatemala, Adriana grew up in Dallas, Texas and is now stationed here in Naples with her two daughters and husband Richard, who is also a USO Volunteer. Many of you have been greeted by her friendly and enthusiastic smile at Troop Lunch, as she serves our hardworking troops. When asked why she chose to volunteer with the USO Adriana replied, “because it makes a difference for our military members and their families. Snack attack gives the children something to look forward to and makes them smile, spouse events bring strangers together to create new friendships, appreciation drops show our service members appreciation… it all makes a difference and the USO allows me to be part of it.”

Since Adriana started volunteering with USO Naples in February, she has dedicated nearly 50 hours of volunteer service. During the past 6 months fellow volunteers and USO staff have quickly bonded with her and have been inspired by her selflessness and dedication to her community. When Adriana isn’t at the USO volunteering, you can find her spending time with her family, hiking, mountain biking or even finding other ways to give back to the community. In fact, some of you may have had a homemade face mask made by Adriana, as she has been making them for community members during lockdown and phase II of the pandemic.

It is needless to say that IT2 Viramontes has made a large impact on USO Naples and the NSA Naples Community as a whole. We are grateful for her service both as a service member and as a volunteer. Please join us in thanking her and congratulating her as our Volunteer of the Month!
