Insta-Trivia at USO Sigonella

USO volunteers around the globe are known for being dedicated, service-oriented individuals who go the extra mile in order to deliver USO “goodness” to those who serve our country. In a word, they are “awesome”, and the team in Sigonella believes that’s particularly true of their volunteers! USO volunteers are primarily fellow service members who volunteer during their time off. Just look at what one of the USO Sigonella volunteers was willing to do to bring smiles to the faces of the military service members on base – handing out prizes while dressed as a Rex, the Tyrannosaurus dinosaur!

The program is called Insta-Trivia and it is a fun way for the USO to get out and randomly lift the spirits of service members on base who are going about their normal day. They were not expecting to be approached by a living, breathing dinosaur! Even the most stoic Marines lit up with excitement as they saw Rex walking toward them and they wondered (sometimes aloud) what the USO was up to. In true USO fashion, the service members are awarded prizes ranging from candy bags to Americana coolers based on their ability to correctly answer a random trivia question. While the interaction was brief, the burst of positivity in the middle of the day was lasting. Our nation’s service men and women stationed on NAS Sigonella in Sicily, Italy can always count USO Sigonella to help them find reasons to smile!
