USO Naples Volunteer of the Quarter- OS2 Ronnie Tung

USO Naples would like to introduce our volunteer OS2 Nkengazong Tung, also known as Ronnie. She has been an outstanding addition to the USO Naples volunteer team ever since she joined in September 2019. In just these past 10 months alone, Ronnie has made an incredible impact on the NSA Naples community and we are proud to announce and congratulate her as our Volunteer of the Quarter! Originally from Cameroon, a small West/Central African country, Ronnie is now stationed here in Naples. Ronnie has even brought part of her home to our military community, giving them a “Taste of Africa” during a special Troop Lunch where she cooked and served homemade African food to over 75 service members. Many of you have most likely seen and been welcomed by her at programs like Troop Lunch, Bingo or even Naples Got Talent. When asked why she chose to volunteer with the USO she replied, “I have always wanted to volunteer but I had no idea how to go about it until I met NC1 Asha Clark who pointed me to the right direction and I made the decision to be a part of USO.” Volunteer connections are crucial to building our strong force of volunteers, and we are so glad we have both Asha and Ronnie on our team! Outside of volunteering Ronnie enjoys playing video games and spending time with her family and friends, but she also enjoys spending time with the community by volunteering just as much. When asked what her favorite part of volunteering is, she replied “I love to see the smiles on people’s faces when I do one small good deed. You never know how a smile can change someone’s day or mental state.” Ronnie has truly made her mark here at USO Naples because of her empathy, compassion and dedication, to not only our community but to our USO Naples staff and volunteers.
